When buying a piece of recreational property there are a few things you need to ask yourself prior to starting your search.
How much property can I afford?
Your local bank of lender can provide you this information usually over the phone. Due to the different land prices across the Carolina's some areas may have a higher price per acre than others.
What area would I like to start my search?
This usually depends on what your planning to do with the property. If you want a property strictly for waterfowl hunting then you would want to find a tract that is close to a large body of water such as a lake, river, waterfowl refuge, or sound. You should adjust your criteria to fit your intended use of the property. The area you choose will decided how many acres you can buy. As stated above, in parts of the Carolina's you will be able to purchase land for much cheaper than others.
What will my intended use be?
Contacting a knowledgeable land broker here can be an extremely valuable tool. If you are looking for a property to hunt bears on you probably wouldn't want to buy a piece of property in Lincoln County. There are many ways that you can research the wildlife concentration in certain area of the states. Most of your state wildlife agencies can provide you with harvest information from the previous year(s).
After you have set your criteria its time to begin your search. At Mossy Oak Properties we can provide you with an extensive search anywhere in the Carolina's.
